Lux Boreal – A nomadic festival of Nordic music!  Composers/artist that are playfully shaping their own musical language between pop, jazz, contemporary classical, and electronic music.

Lovisa Samuelsson Quartet

Per Norin – keys, vocals
Felisia Westberg – bass, vocals
Anna Lund – drums, vocals

  • ‘The music is dreamy, progressing slowly, sometimes majestically… The task of determining the genre is really impossible… sometimes it follows in the tradition of singer-songwriters, in other moments it’s meditative chamber music, sometimes cinematic moods versus jazzy elevations. It is important to state that the music never becomes overloaded or unnaturally whimsical. Instead, the songs form a coherent pattern of fabulously beautiful and meaningful sequences…’

Christian Wallumrød Ensemble
Christian Wallumrød is considered to be one of Norway’s most prominent musicians and composers on the contemporary music scene, and the Christian Wallumrød Ensemble (CWE) is one of his main projects.

Wallumrød’s long-standing collaboration with producer Manfred Eicher has resulted in 5 albums with CWE on ECM Records. The ensemble has also released the records Kurzsam and Fulger (2016) and Many (2020) on Hubro Music. All albums have been met with great enthusiasm among critics and audiences around the world, and several of them have also ended up on various best-of-the-year lists in national and international media. CWE has toured and played at festivals in Norway, Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan since 2003. Together with the ensemble, Wallumrød has developed his idiosyncratic chamber music over a 20-year period, and with various line-ups.

Espen Reinertsen – saxophone, recorder, electronics
Eivind Lønning – trumpet, electronics
Tove Törngren Brun – cello, electronics
Per Oddvar Johansen – drums, vibraphone, electronics
Christian Wallumrød – piano, harmonium, electronics

Many years of activity and record releases have generated a lot of material, so currently the ensemble picks pieces to play from the entire repertoire history.
